Honeywell Technologies has launched Forge Cognition. It is an AI-powered platform designed to improve building management. Developed with NVIDIA and Dell Technologies, the platform combines AI agents and digital twins. This helps operators detect equipment issues, reduce energy consumption and maintain comfortable indoor environments.
Forge Cognition integrates with existing building and industrial systems, enabling companies to add AI capabilities without significant changes to their current setups.
Applications like alarm management, predictive maintenance and energy optimisation can be developed for the platform. The operators have the option of fully manual, semi-autonomous or autonomous modes, giving them a choice of how much of the responsibility they want the AI to take on.
NVIDIA provides AI models, accelerated computing and simulation technologies, such as its libraries Omniverse. Dell Technologies delivers the enabling infrastructure with NVIDIA via its Dell AI Factory that includes Dell’s computing, data storage and cybersecurity offerings.
In its current deployments, the company says has seen encouraging results with a drop of up to 90% in unnecessary alerts and the potential to save up to 10% in energy and utility costs. The pilot also maintained a comfort score above 95%, which is a measurement of temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide levels across various zones of the company.
Over time, Honeywell plans to scale-up the capabilities to further optimize the reliability, energy efficiency and overall performance of their existing equipment.
