Odisha slated 46 industrial projects worth Rs 39,383 crore for ground-breaking or inauguration at a single ceremony in Kalinganagar,Jajpur district.
The projects are across 17 sectors. Steel and metals, refractories and industrial gases sit alongside chemicals, rubber and plastics, and textiles. There are projects in renewable energy, power storage and biofuels, in electronics and IT services, and in shipbuilding and ship repair. Food processing, logistics and warehousing, infrastructure, tourism, healthcare and the circular economy complete the list and are spread over 14 districts, among them Jajpur, Khordha, Puri, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur and Boudh.
Under the current government total151 projects have now reached ground-breaking or inauguration, 116 of them ground-breakings and 35 inaugurations. Between them they account for Rs 3,11,722.46 crore of investment and claim to add 2,40,697 jobs. The state traces this pipeline to the Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 and has set itself the target of a “Samruddha Odisha” by 2036.
For manufacturers and equipment suppliers, the sector mix is worth a look. The core of Odisha’s pipeline is still steel, metals and refractories. But power storage, electronics, shipbuilding and circular-economy projects on the same list point to a broader industrial base taking shape.
