Serentica provides renewable energy to Cairn

Cairn’s requirement is for its Rajasthan oilfields and allows it to shift a part of its energy needs for energy intensive extraction operations to renewables.

Oil and gas production is traditionally carbon-intensive, hence an obvious target to explore and integrate renewable power directly into upstream operations. This would help reduce emissions at the source, a shift towards clean energy for its oilfield operations is a  step toward lowering its operational carbon footprint while aligning with broader decarbonisation goals in the energy sector.

Serentica backed by the Vedanta group is an industrial provider of round the clock energy solutions. The project reinforces its positioning as a key clean energy supplier at an Industrial scale, specially for sectors like oil and gas

Cairn is one of India’s largest oil and gas producers and the move is significant as its supports sustainability commitments which will improve long term cost efficiency and reduce dependence on conventional power sources .

In a broader context the partnership is aligned with the growing trend of integrating renewables into core industrial and extractive operations within the industry and the use is moving beyond the auxiliary usages as it was broadly limited to.
