Noida International Airport has deployed ABB’s power distribution and water management automation systems ahead of its operational launch. The technology package includes 33kV gas-insulated switchgear, low-voltage distribution infrastructure, and programmable logic controller-based water treatment automation.
ABB’s ZX2 switchgear manages power distribution from the airport’s main receiving substation, feeding into low-voltage panels that ensure continuity across emergency power systems, lighting, ventilation, and transportation infrastructure. The setup is designed to minimize downtime risks in mission-critical airport functions.
On the water side, AC500 PLC and SCADA-based systems handle real-time monitoring of treatment plants, enabling early leak detection and quality control. The automation aims to reduce freshwater consumption through recycling and efficient management, supporting the airport’s net-zero operational targets.
ABB describes the deployment as scalable infrastructure that can expand in line with the airport’s phased growth plans.
