Kewazo Raises 35 Million to Scale Lifting Robots in Heavy Industry

Backers include Chevron Technology Ventures, Asahi Kasei, and lead investor Schooner Capital. The Munich and Houston-based company, Kewazo is deploying its Liftbot lifting robot across refineries, petrochemical plants, and power facilities.

Liftbot replaces cranes and manual handling during maintenance and capital projects, addressing safety and efficiency challenges in heavy industrial environments. The system is already operating at more than twenty sites in North America and Europe, handling vertical material movement in settings where traditional automation has struggled to gain traction.

By operating in high-barrier industrial environments, Kewazo collects structured operational information that forms the foundation of  physical AI platform. The company envisions using this data to introduce transparency now and enable broader automation later.

The new capital will accelerate deployment capacity, expand into additional workflows beyond lifting, and deepen integration at existing customer sites.
