JBM Group has appointed Umashanker Gupta as Executive Vice President and Head of R&D for Electric Vehicles reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing electric bus platforms and sustainable mobility solutions.
In his new role, Gupta will lead research and development initiatives centered on EV architecture, system integration, and scalable mobility solutions with particular emphasis on engineering-led innovation and modular platform design.
Prior to joining JBM Group, Gupta served as General Manager and Head of R&D at Volvo Buses India, where he played a key role in vehicle development and engineering programs His career includes more than two decades at VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd, where he held several leadership positions including Head of Vehicle Technology for trucks and buses.
