CASE Group is positioning coal gasification technology as an alternative to imported industrial fuels across Indian manufacturing. Its gasifier systems convert high-ash Indian coal into syngas—a combustible gas mixture used directly in furnaces, kilns, and dryers—replacing LPG, natural gas, and furnace oil in industrial thermal processes.
Industrial expansion in India is feeling the heat of volatile global fuel markets and an engineering workforce heading toward retirement. CASE has deployed gasifier variants—fixed bed, fluidized bed, hot and cold systems—engineered specifically for Indian coal grades. The company reports over 200 installations operating across steel, ceramics, glass, and chemical plants.
The technology sits within India’s push to utilize domestic coal reserves while reducing foreign exchange outflows. Gasification produces lower sulfur and nitrogen oxide emissions compared to direct coal combustion, according to the company, with zero liquid discharge systems addressing water pollution concerns.
Industries requiring uninterrupted high-temperature heat rely on these systems for thermal stability.
