Daikin Commits ₹1,000 Crore to Set Up R&D Hub in Haryana

Japan’s Daikin Industries has signed an agreement to establish an R&D center in Haryana with an investment of ₹1,000 crore. The facility will focus on advanced technologies and sustainable industrial solutions, and adds to its existing Indian R&D infra.

MOU was signed in Osaka during an official delegation visit to Japan. The center is expected to generate employment while connecting Haryana to global technology networks.

Daikin already operates an R&D facility in Neemrana, Rajasthan, which it inaugurated in 2025 with a ₹500 crore investment. That center employs over 500 engineers across 22 specialized testing laboratories developing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration products for Indian and international markets.

The company has invested ₹2,800 crore in India to date, building manufacturing plants and research infrastructure primarily in Rajasthan. Daikin treats India as a development hub for HVACR products, with the country identified as critical for both domestic consumption and export growth.

The new Haryana facility will be among Daikin’s key research installations globally. It strengthens bilateral industrial ties between Haryana and Japan while supporting the state government’s push to become a manufacturing and innovation destination.

Daikin’s R&D strategy emphasizes energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable cooling technologies. The company develops products tailored to regional climate conditions while meeting evolving refrigerant regulations and energy standards across different markets.
