Cadence has promoted Dr. Alok Jain as Managing Director for India, reinforcing the semiconductor design company’s commitment to the region as a critical innovation hub. Jain, who joined Cadence India in 1997, brings nearly three decades of experience in system verification and engineering leadership.
India houses a substantial portion of Cadence’s global workforce and serves as a major R&D center for the company. In his expanded role, Jain will deepen partnerships with government agencies and academic institutions to strengthen the semiconductor talent pipeline.
Jain will focus on scaling operations and accelerating adoption of emerging technologies like AI-driven design automation. The appointment signals Cadence’s long-term investment in India’s semiconductor ecosystem at a time when the country is positioning itself as a global chip design hub.
