Boeing SLS rocket fires NASA’s Artemis II mission

On April 1st NASA launched its Artemis II mission – for the first time humans are going towards the moon in 50+ year . The Artemis mission is designed to lay the groundwork for future missions to Mars.

Artemis II  is a prominent step in this program, marking the first crewed mission in this new phase of lunar exploration, Boeing built the rocket playing a key role in the mission .

In a release Boeing highlighted progress on the Artemis II mission, which will use the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket to send astronauts around the Moon. Boeing’s role is central to the launch as the system is essentially the central part which holds fuel, powers in the initial launch and generates the needed thrust to lift into space. The astronaut capsule was manufactured by Lockheed Martin.

Boeing has had a long-standing position in large-scale aerospace and space infrastructure programs and this strategic presence only reinforces that . It is a sector that is seeing renewed global interest and investment. The mission also represents a continuation of public-private collaboration in advancing space capabilities.
