Bharat Electronics Limited has inked a strategic partnership with SASMOS HET Technologies to strengthen domestic defence electronics production. The memorandum was exchanged in Bengaluru with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh present, signaling official backing for the collaboration.
Efforts are high on the localisation front for critical components across several technology domains: fibre optics and photonics, tank electronics, naval systems, and airborne platforms. Both companies bring complementary capabilities—BEL’s depth in defence electronics manufacturing and SASMOS’s specialisation in electrical wiring interconnection systems and photonics solutions.
With global supply chains under pressure and import dependencies posing strategic risks, partnerships like this aim to build resilient domestic production and development networks.
