Bedrock Robotics Secures $270M to Scale Autonomous Construction Technology

Bedrock Robotics has raised $270 million in Series B funding to accelerate deployment of autonomous construction equipment across major U.S. infrastructure projects. The round, co-led by CapitalG and Valor Atreides AI Fund, brings the company’s total funding to over $350 million and marks a pivotal moment in bringing autonomous technology to one of the world’s largest industries.

The construction industry in US faces an acute workforce crisis that threatens to constrain growth across critical infrastructure sectors. The industry needs nearly 800,000 workers over the next two years to meet demand, with retirements further widening the labor gap. Project backlogs have climbed to more than eight months as of December 2025.

This shortage comes precisely when demand is surging. Hundreds of billions of dollars are flowing into construction for data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, aerospace production, and automotive plants. Every major hyperscaler and developer faces the challenge of compressing project schedules when labor constraints continue pushing timelines out.

Against this backdrop, Bedrock’s autonomous technology offers a potential solution by multiplying the capability of existing crews rather than replacing them. The technology enables contractors to accomplish more with their current workforce while reducing safety risks and extending equipment operating hours.

The funding follows a period of exceptional growth for Bedrock. The company emerged from stealth in July 2025 with $80 million in combined Seed and Series A funding. Just four months later, in November, it completed a large-scale supervised autonomy deployment for mass excavation on a 130-acre manufacturing site.

This rapid progression from stealth to commercial deployment demonstrates both technical maturity and market readiness. Unlike many robotics startups that require years of field testing before commercial operations, Bedrock moved quickly from development to revenue-generating deployments.
