APEM has launched its Dual Icon series of 14mm panel-mount LED indicators, providing equipment manufacturers with a compact solution for displaying multiple operational states without requiring costly digital displays. The bi-color indicators deliver two distinct visual signals within a single unit, streamlining panel design while maintaining clear communication with operators.
Industrial equipment, commercial machinery, and marine systems frequently need to present multi-state information to users, but control panels offer limited mounting area. Digital displays can serve this function but represent expensive, complex, and potentially fragile alternatives. LED indicators provide familiar, highly visible components that operators can quickly interpret without specialized training.
The Dual Icon series doubles the information capacity of traditional single-state indicators by using red and green filters combined with LED lighting. Each unit provides three operational states: off, green icon display, and red icon display. This allows a single 14mm mounting location to communicate information that would otherwise require two separate indicators or more sophisticated display technology.
The indicators suit applications in e-transportation systems including electric scooters and bike-sharing stations, where they provide clear visual cues for charging status, availability, or system faults. Robotic interfaces benefit from distinct feedback for control systems, ensuring smooth operation. Industrial control panels gain advanced visual signaling capability, helping operators manage complex processes efficiently.
Marine applications leverage the IP67 sealing and corrosion-resistant construction for reliable operation in harsh saltwater environments. Agricultural and construction equipment benefit from daylight visibility and vibration resistance. Medical devices and telecommunications equipment utilize the compact form factor and reliability in space-critical installations.
The Dual Icon series meets requirements for UL Recognition and other industry-relevant standards, simplifying certification for equipment incorporating these components. Compliance with established standards reduces regulatory burden for manufacturers while providing assurance of safety and reliability.
