The company recently announced its plans to invest $75 million across Karnataka in 2026 to expand manufacturing capacity and technology infrastructure, following a $35 million investment in 2025. The expansion strengthens ABB’s presence in energy, digital infrastructure, and industrial automation through greenfield campuses, new production lines, service centers, and precision equipment facilities.
The investment spans five sites. Nelamangala Campus 2 on Kunigal Road covers 16,470 square meters dedicated to Electrification and Automation manufacturing. Production capacity for data center power management solutions will increase nearly tenfold, supporting more than 30 percent of India’s hyperscale data centers already relying on ABB’s low- and medium-voltage technologies.
The campus also manufactures blending and excitation solutions for lubricants, paints, paper, and pulp industries. New assembly lines produce pigging line valves and automation staging cabinets, with on-site factory acceptance testing ensuring reliability. High-power rectifiers serve chemical and metals customers while expanding into regional exports.
At Peenya, ABB broke ground on an integrated Motion manufacturing facility spanning 6,100 square meters. The site will employ up to 300 people producing high-efficiency motors including flameproof variants, roller table motors, large smoke ventilation units, low-voltage drives, and programmable logic controllers. It also has a service and training center equipped with digital tools and remote diagnostics support..
ABB operates three manufacturing locations with multiple production floors across Karnataka, employing over 3,000 people. The state provides technology talent, manufacturing expertise, and R&D capabilities that align with ABB’s local-for-local strategy.
Karnataka’s industrial ecosystem also benefits from expanded local capacity, specialized technical skills development, and regional supplier network growth. As India accelerates industrial modernization and digital transformation, ABB’s manufacturing footprint positions the company to supply energy-efficient and automated solutions supporting next-generation infrastructure.
